A domain name is the familiar,
easy-to-remember name for a web site on the Internet, such as:
bizcn.com. Domain names are used as a convenient way of locating Web
Sites, people and information on the Internet. The supported characters
in a domain name include letters a to z (case insensitive) and the
numbers 0 to 9. For added flexibility, the dash character ( - ) may
also be used to create your domain name.
Who will be the domain owner when I register a domain name with Castles?
You own the domain name, just as if you
had purchased it through any other ICANN accredited Registrar like
Network Solutions/Verisign. In the “Domain Name Manager” section you
will be able to manage all four contact fields for the domain at will,
modify its name servers, or use the domain to register your own name
servers. We do not charge for any of these services, giving you the
freedom to do with your domain as you want, when you want.
How long does it take for a domain to become active?
Castles processes registrations in
real-time with the registry. However, it can take anywhere from 24-48
hours for a domain name to fully propagate across the Internet and
become accessible.
What is domain lock?
Although your domains are already
securely managed, this FREE option also locks your domain name at the
Registry itself providing an additional layer of protection from
inadvertent changes to your domain's name servers or contact
information, and changes of ownership. More importantly, Domain Name
Locking prevents unauthorized transfers because the Registry will
reject the transfer request immediately for you. The transfer is denied
before it even gets started!
What is the WHOIS?
The WHOIS is a utility that allows people to see the contact information and owner of a domain.
Can my WHOIS information be hidden from the public?
The ownership and contact information
for your domain is public information. For an additional fee your email
With SRSplus Private Registration, your customers private contact
information is kept out of the public WHOIS database. When you add the
SRSplus Private Registration service to your domain name registrations,
alternate contact information is displayed in the registrant’s WHOIS
listing, protecting the registrant’s contact information from public
view.
